We’re All Called to Share the Gospel

Let’s be real for a second.

When you hear the phrase “share the Gospel,” what comes to mind? Maybe it sounds intimidating – like something reserved for pastors, missionaries or people with theology degrees. Maybe you picture someone shouting on a street corner, knocking on doors or preaching from a stage and think, “That’s not me. That’s not my calling.”

But here’s the truth:

If you’re a follower of Jesus, that is your calling. It isn’t just a suggestion or a side option. It’s part of your identity in Christ.

Jesus Didn't Just Call a Few – He Called You

Before Jesus ascended into heaven, he gave one final, epic instruction: “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation.” It wasn’t just for the disciples. It wasn’t just for pastors, missionaries, or the super-spiritual. It was for you. It was for me. It was for every believer. It’s our calling. It’s not about having the right words or a perfect life; it’s about saying yes to the one who has called you.

Just think about who shared Jesus with you. For most of us, it probably wasn’t a missionary or even a pastor. It was a friend, a family member…someone most would consider ordinary. But that person followed their calling to share Jesus with others, with you. You have the calling, too.

Called – Not Because You’re Qualified, But Because You’re Willing

You don’t need a microphone or a platform. You don’t have to stand on a stage or go door to door. You just have to show up as you. You just need to be present. Be real. Be available.

Here’s how you can live out your calling:

  • In conversation: Ask your friends what they believe. Share how Jesus has changed your life – not as a script, but as a story.

  • Online: Use your platform (whatever it looks like) to reflect the hope you have. Post about your faith – not in a cringey or judgmental way – but with authenticity. Your faith doesn’t need to be flashy. Just faithful.

  • In your actions: Love like Jesus. Be kind, gracious, and different. Sometimes the loudest witness is a life that looks like him.

You're Already in the Mission Field

You don’t need to travel across the world to answer your calling (though maybe one day you will). Your school, your job, your group chat, your TikTok feed — that’s your mission field right now.

The people around you are watching. They’re wondering if there’s more to life. God has strategically placed you where you are to be part of their answer. Not because you’re perfect, but because you’ve met the one who is.

And the amazing part? You don’t do it alone! The Holy Spirit goes with you, speaks through you and empowers you.

Don’t Wait to Feel “Ready” — You’re Already Called

You might be thinking, I still mess up. I still have doubts. I still don’t know all the Bible verses.

Same.

But Jesus didn’t wait until his disciples had it all together. He called them right in the middle of their mess, their doubts and their real lives. He’s not calling you to perfection. He’s calling you to obedience.

So stop waiting to feel qualified. Stop waiting to feel “called.” He’s already qualified and called you through the cross.

So don’t sleep on your calling. Step into it.
