When did you first connect with I Am Second? Was it recently after seeing someone you follow on social media share a film? Or maybe you’ve been around since the beginning – over fifteen years ago.
Personally, I was introduced to I Am Second when they first launched in 2008. I was going to a Texas Rangers baseball game in Arlington, Texas and one of my favorite Christian artists at the time, Toby Mac, was going to give a concert on the grounds before the game. I Am Second was there, and I was immediately sold out to all of it. These were obviously my type of people.
I kept up with I Am Second over the years, and as I’ve worked on staff now for almost two years, I’m still so thankful for the work that I Am Second, and our parent organization e3 Partners, is doing. And this year, we’re preparing to bring you into the fold even more.
We’ve heard from a lot of you about what you’re looking for, and the challenges you face, in your walk with God and finding your purpose. 2025 is the year that we want to come alongside you and help you grow, connect and deepen your relationship with Jesus. We live in an online world where virtual interactions often take precedence over in-person ones, and some of us just don’t have many in-person opportunities available. That’s why we’ve spent a long time praying and planning on ways to connect with you where you are and help you overcome the obstacles that you feel are keeping you stuck.
This year, we want to help you face challenges surrounding your faith. Are you afraid of sharing your story? Or maybe you don’t feel equipped to know how. We’ve got you covered. Are you tired of walking alone but want help finding someone further along in the faith to mentor you and help you grow? We’re hard at work building a platform for real community connections that will foster your faith and help you take the next step. Are you feeling confused as to what your purpose in life is? Keep an eye out for resources that can help you find direction and peace about your purpose and how to accomplish it.
For nearly two decades, I Am Second has been here to encourage you. We’ve produced over 190 films, books, resources, clothes and more to give you encouragement and a relevant reminder that God will use you where you are. As Christians, we are called to walk together in community and encourage each other in our faith by reminding each other of how he’s moved in the past.
Hebrews 12:1 says, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us…”
To fully understand the encouragement and challenge this verse gives, you have to know that Hebrews 11 is often referred to as the faith hall of fame. In this chapter, Paul gives us a reminder of all of the people in the Old Testament who walked in faith and were delivered by God. The Bible is full of historical accounts of people overcoming, learning and growing as they walked with God. And in Hebrews 12, Paul is challenging us to remember all of those people who came before us, to be inspired by their faith and to imitate it.
That’s what drives us at I Am Second. We share stories of people living in the here and now and how their faith has transformed their lives. We want to remind you that you have a divine purpose in this world and when you walk with God, he will reveal it to you. And if you’re struggling to know how to walk with God or go to the next step in your faith, we have and are creating resources and opportunities to help you overcome those challenges.
